KNIGHTSBRIDGE MEWS
PRIVATE CLIENT / INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE
This charming mews house has been completely reimagined as a refined yet characterful pied-à-terre for a young international family. What began as a tired property, that was once arranged as a warren of disconnected rooms linked by narrow corridors with magnolia walls and avocado bathrooms, was taken back to brick and reconfigured from the ground up - including the construction of an entirely new basement level. At the heart of the home, the staircase became the defining architectural element. Conceived not simply as a means of circulation but as a sculptural centrepiece and a defining element for the project as a whole. The result is a house that balances bold expression with thoughtful restraint and, most importantly, it reflects the spirit of its owners: international, design-literate and unafraid of colour.
